Oakland' Spring Real Estate Market
March 10th, 2007 2:45 PM

The inventory of single family homes in the Oakland area was seasonally low in January and February, and into March, prompting many to believe that "the bubble has really burst" or "the sky is falling".  In reality, good properties that came on the market during this period that were priced right and in good condition enjoyed multiple offers, some receiving "pre-emptive" offers (offers written before full exposure to the market place or before the set date for offer presentation).  Low interest rates and low inventory have created strong buyer demand for the area.  It is not uncommon to have 100 to 200 groups through a Sunday open house in some neighborhoods.  It is a great time to be a Seller.  Oakland offers a variety of architectural styles, old and new homes, homes with stunning San Francisco Bay views and new homes with all of the amenities you could hope for, from gourmet kitchens to home theaters.  There is a house to fit every budget.  The San Francisco Bay Area is one of the more desirable areas on the planet, to visit and to live. The strong desire to live here  bodes well for the local real estate market.
